We’ve got our greens covered Thanks to some greenhouse growers in our area, we can forget the days of weaving through the produce aisle, sheepishly hiding our bags of California-grown lettuce from fellow locavores. Gone too are the days of wasting water to wash off the plastic, gassy taste from the thousands of miles traveled by “triplewashed” packaged salad greens. Even when it’s snowing outside, crispy, crunchy and very local lettuce is available for our salad bowls and sandwiches.
